A Discretionary Overdraft Service
It is the policy of Complex Community Federal Credit Union to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and to conduct business in accordance with applicable safety and soundness standards.
A non-sufficient funds (negative) balance may result from: A) The payment of checks, electronic funds transfers, or other withdrawal requests; B) Payments authorized by the member; C) The return, unpaid, of items deposited by the member; D) The imposition of applicable service charges; or E) The deposit of items which according to the Credit Union’s Funds Available Policy, are treated as not yet “available” or finally paid.
Complex Community Federal Credit Union is not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if member’s account does not contain sufficient collected funds. Rather than automatically returning, unpaid, any non-sufficient funds items that the account may have, if the eligible account (primarily used for personal and household purposes) has been open for at least sixty (60) days and thereafter the member maintains the account in good standing, which includes at least: A) Continuing to make deposits consistent with member’s past practices, and depositing at least $400 or more in member’s account within each thirty (30) day period, B) Members are not in default on any loan obligation to the Credit Union, C) Members bring their account to a positive balance (not overdrawn) at least once every thirty (30) days, and D) Member’s account is not the subject of any legal or administrative order or levy, we will consider, without obligation on our part, approving member’s reasonable overdrafts. This discretionary *service will generally be limited to a $400 overdraft (negative) balance for Free Checking accounts, and $700 overdraft (negative) balance for other eligible personal checking accounts (like Member’s Advantage Checking).
Any and all fees and charges, including without limitation our non-sufficient funds/overdraft fees ($25.00 per item as set forth in our fee schedules) will be included in this limit and will apply to any transaction that overdraws member’s account including, but not limited to, payments authorized by Checks, ACH / Electronic Items, Internet Banking / Online Banking and Telephone Banking Transactions.
Complex Community Federal Credit Union may refuse to pay an overdraft for members at any time, even though the member’s account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for the member. Members will be notified by mail of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that members may have; however, we have no obligation to notify the member before we pay or return any item. The amount on any overdrafts plus our Non-Sufficient Funds and/or Overdraft (NSF/OD) Charge(s) that members owe us shall be due and payable upon demand.
If there is an overdraft paid by us on an account with more than one (1) owner on the signature card, each owner, and agent if applicable, drawing/presenting the item creating the overdraft, shall be jointly and severally liable for such overdrafts plus our Non-Sufficient Funds and/or Overdraft (NSF/OD) Charge(s).
LIMITATIONS: Available only to eligible personal checking accounts primarily used for personal and household purposes. All Business Type Accounts, All Savings Type Accounts, All Money Market Accounts, All Public Fund / Charitable Organization Accounts and Student Minor Accounts are not eligible. We may limit the number of accounts eligible for Overdraft Privilege Service to one account per household.
*The Overdraft PrivilegeSM Service does not constitute an actual or implied agreement between the member and the Credit Union. Nor does it constitute an actual or implied obligation of or by the Credit Union. This service represents a purely discretionary courtesy or privilege that the Credit Union may provide to the member from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by us at any time without prior notice or reason or cause.
We have your best interest in mind with share draft (checking) accounts. CCFCU offers its members a checking account with several advantages over other financial institutions’ checking accounts including up to $700 Overdraft Privilege and local ATM network.
Having a checking account at CCFCU allows you to have access to your account 24 hours a day.
When you combine your checking account with an ATM/Check Card, Direct Deposit services, FREE EZ Bill Pay and EZ Web Account Access, it becomes one of the most convenient accounts you’ll ever open.
Our Basic Savings
A regular share/savings account is opened by you when you join the Credit Union. Your savings are called “shares” because they represent shares of ownership. Think of it as a regular savings program.
The basic savings account of $25 must be maintained to preserve your membership. Dividends are paid quarterly on the average daily balance of $100 or more. Share balances below $100 will not earn a dividend.
A Certificate of Deposit Product
Share Certificates are available with terms ranging from 6 months to 5 years. Dividends can be transferred to your share/savings account, MMAC account, draft/checking account or paid directly to you by check. CCFCU’s Share Certificates and Jumbo Share Certificates offer rates that are among the most competitive in today’s market.
An IRA lets you defer tax dollars now while you save for retirement. If eligible, you can contribute up to a maximum of $5,000 each year to your IRA. The yearly amount you contribute could be deductible from your taxable income (if you are over 50, this amount is $6,000). You pay no taxes on the principal or the accrued interest until you begin withdrawals, at which time you will likely be in a lower tax bracket. CCFCU invites you to talk with our IRA consultant for specific information about account procedures, rates and legal requirements.
Our Big MMAC is a money market account that provides more access than a traditional Share Certificate. With a Big MMAC account, you can withdraw or transfer up to three times per month, no less than $200 per withdrawal with no penalties. A minimum deposit of $2,000 is required to open. Your dividends are paid monthly on the daily balance.
